Château Sociando-Mallet årgang 2013 fra Haut Médoc i Bordeaux.
Château Sociando-Mallet produces full-bodied wines with a deep, dark colour. Their complex bouquet is usually dominated by black fruit aromas with a touch of minerality and well-integrated, elegant oak. Often somewhat "virile" when young, the wines gain in balance and complexity with age. They are fresh, straightforward, and have a wonderful length. Château Sociando-Mallet has always been a wine with great ageing potential. A wine to be enjoyed even after 30 years in great vintages.
The Wine Doctor 14,5-15,5/20 (april 2014): "The 2013 was easily head-and-shoulders above anything else from the Haut-Médoc appellation. Cabernet Sauvignon 50%, Merlot 50%. Very pure, dark, damson and blackcurrant nose, very classic, with a really bright perfume to it, this shows a very typical Sociando-Mallet confidence and it is certainly appealing. The palate is softly textured, but there is a nice frame of tannin hidden within, the texture based on creamed blackcurrant, damson and blackberry. Lovely substance, elegant but textured and balanced. A fine, firmly tannin-infused finish. This is very impressive for the vintage. It feels so correct. Well done".
James Suckling 90-91/100 (april 2014): "Bright and fruity with blueberry and cream character. Medium body with fine tannins and an attractive finish. Sociando performs outstandingly in difficult years".
Wine Spectator 87-90/100 (april 2014): "Offering a core of blueberry and blackberry fruit, this isn’t shy with its toast as a roasted vanilla edge holds sway on the finish. Yet there’s a juicy edge and some solid flesh for the vintage".
