En moden, lækker bouquet stiger op fra glasset med en blomstret aroma, som efterfølges af pære og fersken. Den komplekse bouquet slutter af med en lidt myntet fornemmelse. Farven er flot strågul og smagen er fyldig og dyb med en dejlig frugtet kerne, som er helt i tråd med en perfekt integreret syre. Eftersmagen er fyldt med moden kraft fra samme aromaer, tilsat karamel og lidt klementin, som bare bliver ved og ved.
This terroir is mid-slope with a limestone-rich brown soil. We can see Ladoix limestone and Dijon Corton stone outcroppings. The slope is very steep and almost bare of earth: the vines are under permanent stress during really hot periods. Grapes coming from a terroir situated on a steep part of the slope and composed of white limestone. A wine with a mineral bouquet accompanied with a taste of bitter oranges and citrus jam. Even though the Chardonnay is really mature, its tension makes it a wine of great finesse.
Burghound.com/Allen Meadows 91/100 2024+: "Background hints of matchstick character can be found on the pretty aromas of white-fleshed fruit, resin and a hint of lavender. The succulent, round and exceptionally rich, even opulent, medium-bodied flavors possess fine persistence if only average depth on the balanced finale. My rating assumes that this will add sufficient depth to merit my rating over time".
